A little about myself – I will freely admit that whether I am in an interview or have to talk about myself in a group setting, I find this aspect of life one of the hardest things to do. Anyhow, I will give it a try. I was born in India, grew up in the U.K. and now live in British Columbia, Canada. I think this is it, I don’t think I will be moving to another country, but then again life is unpredictable, which makes it both fascinating and challenging at times.
I live with a disability as I contracted polio at the age of six months. I have depended on my wheelchair to get around ever since then. I am ever so grateful to whomever invented wheelchairs, as I would genuinely be stuck if it wasn’t for my wheelchair. In a way, I have my own permanent form of transportation. I have the best seat in the house, at all times.
Our little family consists of my husband, Sunny, and our dog, Dahlia. They both add so much joy to my life. One more than the other.
My role model is my mother, her strength and fun loving nature inspires me everyday.
Through this blog, I am hoping to share tips and techniques on how I overcome demotivation to keep my mind and body healthy. Whether you have a visible or invisible disability, the struggle is real and some days are harder than others. I am not a clinical counselor or psychologist. I am simply another human who has gone through life and experienced moments of heartache, disappointment, and hardships, yet still am here with a smile on my face.
I am a work in progress, but would love for you to join me on this strange journey we call Life.
